PLM Conference
Plymouth, MI – September
23 – 24, 2008
Tim Runcie, Founder and President of Advisicon, was a track
presenter during the PLM Road Map Conference 2008, held at The Inn at St.
John’s in Plymouth, MI, September 23 and 24. This annual event, now in its 15th
year, is hosted by Collaborative Product Development Associates (CPDA) and focused on the critical tradeoffs shaping product
development. CPDA's analysts and key industry players shared their experiences
in addressing strategic PLM topics. The conference used a complimentary
approach to showcasing technology. In one approach, which was a series of tracks
throughout the conference, the event posed industry leaders with actual and
quantifiable results gained by clients who have implemented appropriate
technologies. The second approach, showcased industry leaders and the future
technologies that can impact businesses and technological solutions.
The conference provided an opportunity to hear and interact with the industry leaders, experienced
in confronting the changing PLM landscape. Attendees learned how the
best-in-class are using a new generation of PLM processes and technologies to
enhance product development, improve quality and enhance the role of PLM across
the whole enterprise.
The title of Tim’s presentation, “Maximizing PLM
with Technology and Culture Adoption: How to Get More From Your Current
Technology without Divine Intervention”, provided
a clear and practical framework for leveraging and utilizing technology to
support PLM. This presentation focused on a successful roadmap to ensure that
employees will utilize and adopt the PLM technical solutions that are already
in place, without having to jump to the latest technological platform. He
emphasized by utilizing technological mechanics, it is possible to increase
cultural adoption and successful integration. In turn, this allows management
to see a faster time to key metrics and a successful structure for sustained
results.
Advisicon, based in Portland
